IRMO, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff's Department is reporting there were no shots fired at Irmo vs Dutch Fork football game Friday night.

On Saturday morning, the sheriff's department says a "verbal disruption" caused the incident that led to the sheriff's department clearing the stadium as a precaution.

Deputies say that despite rumors of shots being fired in the stadium, they confirmed there were no shots fired and no gun found or seen.

In a statement on Saturday, a Lexington-Richland 5 School District said: "Safety is a top priority for School District Five. We will continue to coordinate our efforts with local law enforcement as this incident remains under investigation. School District Five will further review all safety measures regarding athletic events during the coming week."
