PeaceHealth’s Oregon hospitals, providers may be dropped from PacificSource network

A contract impasse between one of Oregon’s largest health insurers and Lane County’s biggest health system could put thousands of patients in medical limbo this summer.

PacificSource notified its commercial and Medicare Advantage plan members last month that its contract with PeaceHealth expires on June 30. If the two parties can’t reach an agreement, PeaceHealth’s hospitals, clinics and providers in Oregon could stop accepting PacificSource health insurance plans July 1.

PeaceHealth, headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, said it “regularly renegotiates contracts with insurers to ensure the costs of providing safe, high-quality care are adequately reimbursed.”
