NASHVILLE, Tenn. — No. 7-seeded Missouri basketball will take on 2-seed Florida in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament on Friday night at Bridgestone Arena.

Mizzou (22-10) is playing for the second straight night after knocking off 10-seed Mississippi State 85-73 on Thursday behind a 25-point night from senior guard Tamar Bates. The win ended a three-game slump to set up another game in Nashville.

Florida (27-4) earned a double-bye straight to the quarterfinals of the tournament, meaning its tournament will start with Mizzou. The Gators will be among the teams among consideration for a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament when the field is revealed Sunday.

Missouri vs Florida predictions, picks, odds

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Friday morning.

  • Odds: Missouri (+9.5)
  • Over/under: 162.5
  • Moneyline: Missouri (+360)

Prediction: Florida 92, Missouri 81

Mizzou may be without Mark Mitchell against Florida, and if there is any doubt about his health probably should keep him on the sideline to make sure he is healthy for the NCAA Tournament.

Assuming the Tigers are without their leading scorer, Friday’s quarterfinal against one of the nation’s top teams becomes a mammoth task — and one we don’t see them overcoming.
