McCain plays down new Obamacare repeal bill

Arizona Republican Senator John McCain has on Friday against speculations announced his opposition to the latest Republican effort to repeal the current Obamacare healthcare provision.

Referring to the bill sponsored by his friend, Sen. Lindsey Graham(R-SC) and fellow colleague Sen.  Bill cassidy(R-La), McCain said, “I cannot in good conscience vote for the Graham -Cassidy proposal ,” McCain said of the bill proposed by fellow Republican senators Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy .

“I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried ,” the senator said in a statement.

McCain’s opposition could spell doom for the GOP lawmakers efforts. They would however resort to convincing Sens. Lisa Murkowski, who is reviewing the impact of the new proposed healthcare plan.

Earlier in July, McCain voted against the the first attempt at the repealing bill.

McCain has earlier been rumored to possibly consider supporting the bill, due to its sponsor by Graham, a longtime friend. The turn on the bill by McCain will  shock Graham who had earlier expressed his happiness at the possible positive vote from McCain.
